The Northshore Council PTSA’s Educational Speakers and Community Events Grant Program is designed to help support local PTAs in hosting relevant and timely speakers for our district families and to encourage them to create engaging events for our community. ALL local PTAs, within the Northshore School District and in good standing, may apply for a grant through a simple application process. Next deadline is January 21, 2022! Not sure what to apply for? Council Business: The minutes from the September 2021 meeting were approved as written. Council's AIM insurance for the year was renewed and paid for in October. We hope you will join us for our next General Membership Meeting on January 20th, 2022 @ 7pm. For a full list of our upcoming meetings and events, check out our Calendar. WA State PTA's 100% Staff Membership Award is presented to local PTAs that enroll at least as many school staff members as there are full-time certificated employees at the school. This award recognizes the value of teachers and school staff as stakeholders advocating for all children through PTA membership. PTAs must be in good standing and submit a completed application form by March 15, 2022 to be eligible for this award. Recipients of the 100% Staff Membership Award will be recognized at the WSPTA convention in the spring. CONGRATULATIONS to all our local PTAs/PTSAs! As of Thursday, November 18th, as a combined group, Northshore PTAs had officially passed their membership total from last year! All the hard work on your membership campaigns this year is paying off. Here at Council, we are #PTAProud and so impressed by everything you have done!
Council's goal for our combined Northshore PTAs is to have 6,000 members this year. We encourage all of our local PTAs/PTSAs to continue to promote the value of membership. You are invited to join Council's next Emergency Preparedness (E-Prep) Chair meeting!
Anyone in PTA/PTSA is welcome to attend our meetings, and we encourage all local PTA/PTSA E-Prep chairs to attend as well as PTA/PTSA Presidents and/or Vice Presidents or delegates. In this meeting we share and obtain updates from the NSD Safety team and discuss opportunities where the PTA can provide support to our schools in the areas of emergency preparedness, safety, and security. You have promoted Reflections and shared your due date with your school community. Some of you may even be receiving artwork! So now what? Now it's time to submit artwork to Council! Consider running a membership giveaway! Giveaways for joining your PTA must have every member of your PTA registered by a set date included in the drawing to win. You can even make the drawing themed for the season. This time of year is perfect for a "Thanksgiving Giveaway" where the prize is a Thanksgiving meal in a bag: Turkey (or gift certificate to redeem one), box of stuffing, salad kit, and you can't forget the pie! Northshore Council PTSA is hoping to hold online elections for the three (3) positions on its 2020-21 Nominating Committee on Monday, November 15, 2021 during our General Membership Meeting.
As of this date, we have NO candidates that have self-declared themselves for nomination. We will continue to seek nominations until Friday, November 12th in the hopes that we will have a slate to present at the Nov. 15th meeting. The Nominating Committee is a special committee that holds the key to a successful PTSA. It is responsible for presenting the best qualified candidates to serve as the elected officers who will lead Northshore Council PTSA in 2021-22. Qualification Requirements:
